Siberia is a huge area of Russia comprising nearly all of Northern Asian and consists of a great section of the Euro-Asian Steppe.

It stretches eastward from the Ural Mountains till the Pacific Ocean, and southward from the Arctic Ocean till the hills of north-central Kazakhstan. Over the period of years Siberia was colonized by various groups of nomads like the Yenets, the Nenets, the Huns and the Uyghurs. The census reports have stated that the total area of Siberia is 10,007,400 square kilometres. The chief graphical zones of Siberia include West Siberian Plain and the Central Siberian Plateau. The western Siberian Plain consists mainly of Cenozoic alluvial deposits and is extremely low-lying. Most of these deposits are caused because of ice dams, when the flow of the Ob and Yenisei Rivers is reversed.
