Why must some seeds be pass through an animal's alimentary system before they can germinate?

They are evolved that way so that the digestive juices dissolve the hard seed coat and the seed is deposited far from the plant with proper fertilization along with the depositing.

This is a strategy that some plants use to be dispersed far enough from the parent plant. Some use wind and some use water for the same purpose and they look like they were 'designed'  to do just that; fly or float.
