Binding energy is the energy equivalent of the mass deficiency, energy released in the formation of an atom from subatomic particles. 

therefore formula - mass defect *C^2

What about in a bigger object, like an asteroid??? Would it still be the same, or, since it's not on a subatomic level, the speed of light would be replaced by the asteroid's velocity???
