The Nile has its mouth in the mountains of Rwanda and Burundi. Finally it goes into the Mediterranean Sea, and in between it flows through states like Burundi, Tansania, Uganda, Sudan and Egypt. Specially for Egypt, the Nile is of vital economic and cultural importance.
Being 6.671 km in length, the Nile is considered to be the longest river on earth, or maybe the second longest. This is, because the length of the Amazonas - is really difficult to determine, it's considered to be between 6500-7200km, because the source and beginning of the Amazonas river as such is really difficult to determine. However, the Nile is fed by 2 sources:
1) Luvironza-Ruvuvu-Ruvusu-Akagera in Ruanda, which forms the most Southern and longest source,
2) The Rukarara-Nyabarongo forms the most northern and shorter source, and it is one of the sources of the 2 of the White Nile.
Source du Nil (Nilsource) is in South Rwanda, at the edge of the East-African abyss, approx. 40km Southeast of the Kivu-Lake, from where it flows approx. 50km as Rukarara- and onwards. 140 orth nfrom Luxor- there's the Naga Hammadi Dam, one of the 3 dams to provide electricty + water to Upper Egypt.
Below Cairo, the Nile flatters out into the Nile Delta, an area of 24000km2. This is what you would consider the mouth of the River Nile.
