Photosynthesis is a process during which plants prepare their food by using water and carbon dioxide in the presence of sunlight. Chloroplasts present in the plant cells are involved in photosynthesis. The green color of plants is due to the green pigment present in chloroplast, known as chlorophyll. Chloroplasts capture energy from sunlight and this energy is used in photosynthesis. The general equation for the photosynthesis is;
