An organelle is a subunit of a cell that performs a specific function and has its own lipid membrane. There are two major types of organelles based on which cells they belong to. These are:
Eukaryotic Organelles - which are found in Eukaryotic cells.
Prokaryotes Organelles- which are found in Prokaryote cells.
They further have sub types like chloroplast, endoplasmic reticulum etc are organelles of Eukaryotic cells, whereas chlorosome, flagellum etc are types of Prokaryotic organelles. For details see the link below:
