Arthur Leslie Large is said to have invented the first electric kettle in the year 1922. This was not the same electric kettle that we know today, it was just a basic version that was modified later on. The mass production of electric kettles started in 1930 when general electric modified the basic design that had an automatic cut out in it. This invention was a major step towards incorporating convenience into appliances.
