They can survive by killing other animals and eating their head .
I guess they would eat what they could and just get through it like humans do in the
winter!!
winter!!
The dry seasons that occur in grassland ecosystems are a great survival challenge for the animals that live there. The food supply dwindles as the dry weather causes the grass to wither and shrink. Animals try to live on seeds and insects but these also become very scarce as the dry season carries on.
Many insects get through the dry season as eggs or pupa buried in the soil, or as adults resting underground in a state of dormancy. Grasshoppers, butterflies, birds and even some mammals take long distance seasonal migration trips to places where food is in better supply. Birds also migrate and travel much longer distances, leaving Africa and breeding in Europe from the early spring to the summer.
The animals and birds start to return when the rains start to fall and this makes the grass grow again. Insects come out of dormancy, eggs hatch and pupa break free and the area is once again a land of plentiful food.
