When two substances are combined in such a way that they do not react chemically, then this combination is called a mixture. There are two types of mixtures that are homogeneous and heterogeneous mixture. If the two substances cannot separate in a mixture, then the mixture is called homogeneous mixture. On the other hand, in a heterogeneous mixture one substance is suspended in the other substance. Two components of a heterogeneous mixture can be separated by applying some methods. The combination of the soil and the water is a heterogeneous mixture because soil is not blended completely with water.
