The subjects of psychology as a major differ depending upon the university. Though there are some similar subjects which include social psychology, criminal psychology, child psychology, history and meta-theory, visual perception, social behaviour, personality development psychology and many other such related topics. Psychology is a very wide term. There a lot of areas covered related to human functioning and thinking. Psychology enables the person to think more vividly and have an open mind. A psychiatrist and a psychotherapist help people get back to their regular selves and achieve an aim in life. After majoring in psychology, you can do a PhD in it and obtain the title of doctor.

I'm not sure of which subjects you should take that are related to psychology. However, when becoming a psychologist, if you are dealing with the minds of unstable patients, you will need to know how to read body language. Although the patient may be telling you whats wrong, they may not be able to tell you directly how its effecting them. Its much easier to understand their situation if you know the reactions of the body to certain emotions. For example, if a patient is lying, they will shift their eyes to the right.
