The best way to determine the CY is to find out from the supplier what the weight per cf is.
The only weight I could find was 153 lbs per cubic foot on a Q&A site when I searched.
Now divide 2000 (or correct ton weight in your area) by 153 lbs/cf (or the wt given by the supplier).
The answer is 13.07 cf ( 1/2 a cy) per ton or roughly 2 tons per cubic yard.
