The electromagnet generates a magnetic field, the voice coil is energised with electric current which causes the generation of an electromotive force which moves the voice coil. The voice coil is attached to the speaker cone, which vibrates in accordance with the amplitude and direction of the current in the voice coil, thereby generating compression/rarefaction waves in the atmosphere. We call these sound waves.
