Blood is pumped around the body by the heart via the arteries and veins.
Red blood cells transport oxygen, nutrients etc. Around the body via the veins, arteries and capillaries.
Blood is made up of a liquid part, called the plasma, and a non- liquid part, consisting of cells and cell fragments, which together are called the formed elements. Plasma makes up about 55% of the blood volume, and the formed elements make up the other 45%.
It transports carbon dioxide , oxygen and glucose through the blood flow.
