In most aggregate/stone quarries they weigh a ton or 1 cubic yard by the bucket load(the front end loaders shovel size and weigh it in the cab of the front end loader). It will be slightly over a standard measurement/exact measurement because it saves time and money not to have to weigh the load by hand. When the last time I went a cubic yard of stone/concrete paver mix was 17 dollars a ton if you haul it yourself. If you have it delivered then you pay a delivery fee depending on the mileage.so usually 1 cubic yard is a ton of stone or 1 bucket load of a front end loader.
