Decomposers are always at the end of food chain. In your terminology, its tertiary. Producers are always on top

The role of decomposers is to break down the complex organic compounds present in dead organisms like dead plants and animals and their products like faeces, urine etc into simpler substances.

Decomposers ensure that nutrients are decomposed so that they can be absorbed by the soil and re-introduced into the food nutrient cycle.

They are at the end

Some say that they go to the top, while others believe that they are on the side because in a way, they eat all other animals, but it is really confusing because other animals eat them (fungi etc)

They disappear and become fossils
