Carbon is found in all the living organisms. Graphite, diamond and amorphous carbon are best allotropic forms of carbon.

Carbon is from fossilized plant and animal matter....I just watched a special on pbs showing the harvesting of carbon strands forming carbon nano tubes used in everything from tennis raquets to computer circuit boards and even to a stealth jet fuselage..check out this page kavlifoundation.org
