There are 18,110 islands in Indonesia out of which only 600 are inhabited by people. Major islands of Indonesia consist of Greater Sunda Island and New Guinea. Greater Sunda Island Comprises of Borneo, Java, Sumatra, Sulawesi. New Guinea is also divided into Papua and West Irian Jaya and an independent nation called papua New Guinea also included in it.
There are other small islands also that are part of big islands. Java includes Deli, Manuk, Panaitan, panjang, Sangiang, Tinjil, Tunda, Umang.
