Fungi are eukaryotic organisms that are non vascular and the reproduce with the help of spores. Some of the species produce mitotic, while others produce meiotic spores. They usually spend most of their lives attached to objects that is they are immovable. They are like plants in the sense that they also go through alteration of generations. In some species, like mushrooms, the body is composed of large number of cells therefore they are visible. On the other hand some species are unicellular, that is, they only have one cell. They have a cell wall that is composed of a substance called chitin. Fungi can not make their own food; they have to feed on other organisms.
