As I'm the person who actually supplies most of the scandium that is used in everyday life:
1) In metal halide light bulbs. The amounts used are very small (a couple of hundred of kilograms a year for the whole world) but almost all such bulbs have a little scandium in them.
2) In certain aluminium alloys. The most common items manufactured are bicycles and baseball bats from these alloys.
3) A new use is in certain types of fuel cell.
