Buckingham is a small town located in towards the north of Buckinghamshire, roughly ten miles from the border of Northamptonshire. The total population of the area is 11,572 according to the census conducted in the year 2001.
In the past Buckingham used to be the county town of Buckinghamshire and was recognised as a county town around 888 by Alfred the Great. Buckingham is a great place for entertainment and has a number of different restaurants and pubs.
The town is also the base for UK's first and only private university called the University of Buckingham. It is quiet different from other universities of UK as nearly most of the students studying in this University are from overseas. The town has two local football teams, Buckingham Athletic FC and Buckingham Town FC.
