Rossendale is a local government district in Lancashire, England, which has been endowed with borough status. The council of Rossendale is located in Rawtenstall. The district of Rossendale came into being in 1974 under the Local Government Act of 1972. It was formed from the boroughs of Haslingden, Rawtenstall, Bacup, part of the Ramsbottom urban district and the Whitworth urban district.

Along with being a local government district, Rossendale is a renowned ski center, holding a number of camps in summers for travelers and tourists from far and wide.
