Going green is very important because as the last person said its consuming energy that do not drain the planet of its natural resourses. Its also important because people need to start making the three R's apart of there lifes. Reduce,Reuse,Recycle. People don't understand that using the three R's will make life a whole lot easier. So... "GO GREEN."

The idea behind going green is to adopt sustainable and new able means of consuming energy that do not drain the planet of it's natural resources or render it completely unlivable and having a conscientious attitude towards the environment. CFC gases that are being produced by our lifestyles, factories and pollution in whatever form that comes as a by product of human activities is rapidly making the air unable to breathe,  the agricultural farm lands rapidly becoming saline and unable to cultivate, the water becoming unable to drink or consume, etc. Already, the earth's temperature is increasing because of our activities. Going green is simply taking steps necessary to use technologies that do not disturb earth's atmosphere or it's ecosystem. Examples could be using alternate fuels that do not release noxious fumes or increase the CO2 content in the air, or using solar cells and wind farms for electricity, installing treatment plants in factories that treat it for toxic wastes before draining it, etc.

Going green is a very smart idea for the world. If we don't  take  care of our planet then we can't cry and freak out if Mother Nature turns her back on us. So, don't be stupid go green and help save our planet. REMEMBER  REUSE, REDUCE, AND RECYCLE! REMEMBER THESE AND HELP SAVE OUR PLANET!

You are not greater than the earth.

The earth is doing just what it has been,

for billions of years unchanged.

There is NO global warming.

I'm guessing that you are a bit stupid. OR just badly informed and ill-read. Anyway, best of luck with that nonsense.

If we don't go green bad things will happen to the planet we live in and where do you think we'll live then???

Alternate fuels are useless, bio-fuel releases nitrous oxide which is around 300 times worse than co2 and uses up valuable farmland.  Wind farms are usually to far away from civilisation to be useful as energy is lost as heat (p=i2 x r), planes have minimal affects boats are far worse, I do not believe that humans can have any control over the climate long term due to its chaotic nature.
