Probably not. What appeared to be an explosion recently turned out to be the appearance of an asteroid(?) from behind it.

It is surprisingly active though. There is evidence on the surface for recent (in geological terms) volcanic activity. For a dwarf planet that far from gravitational effects this makes no real sense. After dismissing Pluto as "not terribly important" a few years ago, astronomers now find themselves investigating this strange lump of rock again.

I've heard that but more like a light explosion that will smash it into Uranus ! What a mess that will be !
