There are four different types of pollution as we understand it which is caused as a result of human activities. They are air pollution, land pollution, water pollution and sound pollution. It has become such a huge debate because of the newly acquired human ability to destroy the ability of Earth to sustain life as a result. Air pollution of which the most priority is given to the addition of CFC gases to the atmosphere which is destroying the Ozone layer, the very protective coating that protects Earth from Sun's harmful Ultraviolet radiation. Besides that, the addition of Carbon Dioxide and other green house gases to the atmosphere causes the Earth to trap the heat it receives from the Sun and as a result the cumulative temperature on Earth increases. If the temperature was to increase by only 4 degrees all life on Earth would be decimated. Also, the destruction of coral reefs may cause the coastal areas to flood and much of the pollutants, toxins and radioactive wastes that are dumped in the ocean are destroying marine Biology. These are some effects of pollution on human life.
