How Does A Tsunami Start?

A tsunami starts at a subduction zone. It can either be an ocean/ocean convergent boundary, or an ocean/continental boundary. When one of the plates is being forced under the other, the other over time springs back creating a tsunami. The tsunami then splits into two, going into two directions.

Tsunamis occur when a large underwater event generate a monstrous tidal wave capable of reaching heights over 100ft (30m) and threaten countless coastal communities. Tsunami warning centers monitor oceans around the world

If the disruption is on the ocean floor either the Earth's crust is pushed up to create mountains along the fault line or in the case of an under water volcano magma spills out onto the ocean floor displacing masses of water creating a wave. An earthquake or volcano on land has the same effect with land or magma collapsing into the ocean from the shore. The resulting wave can travel across the expance of ocean at speeds up to 450 miles per hour. Only slowing as it gets to shallow water around a coast line. As the wave slows the energy that has been created has to go somewhere, the result is the wave becomes bigger, reaching as high as 30 meters or 100 feet.

Well I think a Tsunami starts when a big or small volcano  starts to erupt

THERE are a lot of disturbances under the ground.as the plates dash each other a disaster happens.here it was under a sea and the water was like trown out.that's how a tsunami happens.
