Desert-dwelling people would have to work much, much harder to conserve and find water. They would not have as many baths per year as we do. (They might only have 1 a year!) They would have to built high-roofed, stilted houses to escape to heat: Else they would have to use tents. They would be almost completely carnivorous, as there isn't much vegetation in a desert! They would go partially blind or see things at a faster rate because of the endless sands/ice.
