Its considered an ecosystem because it has climate,lifeforms,vegetation and sun(which all ecosystems depend on because ecosystem starts with plants and plants survive because of photosynthesis and in order to carry out photosynthesis,they need the help of sun.)

Sahara desert is considered an ecosystem because it has some vegetation and life forms.
Example of vegetation are- nuts, Acacias, etc.
Example of animals are- sidewinder snake, lizard, scorpion, cobra, etc.
