It's a very interesting question and basically it is related to the length. Normally many people don't know the difference between meter and yard. In fact the international unit of length is not yard but it is meter. But yards are also used in several countries of the world until now. Regardless of the fact that meter is an international unit. There is also a difference of length in meter and yard.
You've asked question that how many feet make a yard. And for your kind information this division seems more comprehensive than making meter an international standard of measurement. Because this division is so simple that even a child can make its calculation. Now I think, I should also tell you that meter is a little bit long than the yard. And a meter is equal to 3.3 feet. Where one yard is equal to 3 feet. For more understanding more comprehensively you can see the following example and calculation.
1 meter= 3.3ft
1 yard= 3 ft.
Now you can calculate them easily. I hope it is very clear now. And I think, now you can teach it to others as well. Remember! knowledge is a power.

Feet are a unit of measuring distance or length. It is measurement that is primarily used in the United States. It is not certified by the SI or the International System of Units. Therefore it is a non-SI unit of measurement. Yard is also a unit of measuring lengths and distances. It is used in the English units, Imperial units and in United States.

A yard is also a unit that is bigger than a foot. It is little smaller than a meter but almost the same. But the size of a yard is known to change from system to system. The most common size of a yard is 36 inches or 0.9144 meter. Therefore a yard is made of approximately three feet. A foot is one third of a yard and a yard is almost three times bigger than a foot.

Foot is the unit with the plural feet. The symbol or abbreviation used is ft. It is a non-SI unit of length. It is used in number of systems which take into account the English units, imperial units etc.

In a feet there are known to be 3 yards present. And in a foot there are 12 inches present.
