The tundra means " Treeless Plain".

The tundra is known as the second most deadly environment in the world.
The only tree that grows in the tundra is a little tree called the dwarf willow tree that grows up to 4 inches tall.
There are not many animals, little vegetation, and a climate that is pretty impossible to live in for any human being.

The tundra is from the finnish word "tunturia" which refers to a treeless plain. One of the animals is the snowy owl and its eyes take up more space in its skull then the brain.

Some other interesting facts about the tundra are it's temps. It has gotten to as low as -93 F and as high as 50 F.
