How Do You Convert 400 Square Feet To Linear Feet?

Figure out how many square feet you have per linear foot, and divide 400 ft^2 by that number.  Example If you are talking about carpet that comes 12 ft wide, you have 12 ft^2 per linear foot, so you would need  (400 f^2)/(12 ft^2/ft) = 33 1/3 ft of carpet that width to cover 400 ft^2
