A palisade cell is a type of leaf tissue and can be found in the mesophyll (or area in between the upper and lower layers of a leaf) in dicotyledonous plants, which are flowering plants that two embryonic leaves. The cells aid in the process of photosynthesis and convert energy stored in photons to chemical energy.
