Photosynthesis is the process of converting light energy to chemical energy and produce sugar. This process occurs only in plants and some algae.

 Chemical reaction involved in photosynthesis is:( 6CO2 + 6H2O (+ light energy)  C6H12O6 + 6O2.
  Nearly all life on Earth depends directly or indirectly upon it.

Photosynthesis is the process by which plants prepare their own food in the presence of light,carbon dioxide,water and green pigment called chloroplast!!
Photosynthesis is not a substance that can be absent or present,but its a process you see!!!!!

Photosynthesis is the process whereby green plant manufacture there own food using carbon dioxide,light energy from the sun and water to make glucose and oxygen
summery
carbon dioxide + water ------>light energy from the sun ----->glucose +water

Photosynthesis is a chemical process that takes place in plant cells. It is the opposite of the process of cell respiration.

Cell respiration breaks down sugar molecules such as glucose to give off energy and it produces water and carbon dioxide as waste products. Photosynthesis uses energy trapped from sunlight to put water and carbon dioxide together in a series of biochemical reactions to form the sugar glucose.

Photosynthesis occurs in many tiny steps but generally has two phases. The first phase is dependent on light levels ~ it can only occur when the plant cell is in sunlight. When the light hits the leaf it passes into the cells and reaches the chloroplast. Each chloroplast has tiny stacks of membranes called grana that consist of thylakoids that contain light-trapping molecules. They convert the light energy to chemical energy and pass it to other chemicals in the chloroplast.

It is then used to drive a whole series of chemical reactions that do not need light ~ they can just as easily happen in the dark. At the end of these reactions, sugars such as glucose have been built up using carbon dioxide and water as raw materials.

Photo means light and synthesis means to prepare. It is a process of food preparatio in plants in the presence of sunlight.
Plants uses sunlight .water.carbon dioxide and convert them into organic compounds.these compounds are used by plants themselves for their growth and some of them are stored in the form of vegetables and fruits used by the animals and man. Some are stored in the roots and stems also which are used by the animals ans man like sugar beet.potatos which are roots...

Understand or not??????

Photosynthesis is critical to human life on earth. It is a process whereby the Earth's green plants use the Sun's energy to convert carbon dioxide taken in from the air and water from the soil, into the sugars and starches that provide the energy to make their stems, flowers, leaves and roots. We then eat the plants and part of that energy is absorbed by us.

As a by product of this process oxygen is produced so as plants flourish, the excess carbon dioxide within the air is replaced by oxygen. This helps 'balance' the world, so we have plants taking in carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen. Animals breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide. So in effect it is the circle of life.

There are fears that the amount of carbon dioxide within the air is increasing at a rate which is unsustainable, as a direct result of industry and deforestation.

Photosynthesis is the process in which green plant synthesis organ substance from carbon dioxide and water, using energy absorbed from sunlight by chlorophyll. It is often represented by this equation :
6CO2 + 6H2O + C6H12O + 6O2

Photosynthesis is where the carbon dioxide enters the plant through the stomata and the water enters the plant through the stem. Once this has happened the chlorophyll (which is situated in the chloroplast) absorbs the sunlight and together they both combine the carbon dioxide and the water to create glucose (a type of sugar) and oxygen. The glucose is then stored as starch and is used when needed and the oxygen takes place in the process of respiration. Here are the symbol and word equation:
SYMBOL= CO2 + H2O = O2 + C6H12O6
WORD = Carbon Dioxide + Water = Oxygen + Glucose
( above and below the 2nd = on each equation the words; light and chlorophyll are meant to be but I just couldn't type above and below the =)
Also the definition of photosynthesis is ; "Putting together with light"
Photo = light
Synthesis = Putting Together

Photosynthesis is the process where light energy is absorbed by chlorophyll and transformed into chemical energy used in the synthesis of carbohydrates from water and carbon dioxide. Oxygen is liberated in the process. Water and carbon dioxide are the raw materials for photosynthesis.

Photosynthesis is the process whereby plants make use of water, carbon dioxide and mineral salts (and chlorophyll) an the presence of sunlight to make glucose. It produces oxygen as a by-product. Not all plants can photosynthesize, only those containing chlorophyll. I hope this is helpful to you.

Photosynthesis is how plants make food, or sugar, the simplest for of food. The only plants that can make food for themselves are green ones because they use chlorophyl, which is stored in the chloroplasts of a plant cell. You can find this in an average middle school science book.

A process in which organisms, with the aid of chlorophyll (green plant
enzyme), convert carbon dioxide and inorganic substances into oxygen
and additional plant material, using sunlight for energy. All green
plants grow by this process.
