Why Did The Earthquake Occur In Haiti?

Haiti sits on the edge of the Caribbean plate, one of the earth's tectonic plates. As these plates shift and move, the force of one rubbing against another causes earthquakes. (imagine moving something heavy on a concrete floor. Take the awful noise and vibration and multiply it by a billion) Here is a small map of the tectonic plates. Places near the edges, or fault lines, are most at risk for earthquakes.

This happened because  a pair of tectonic plates in the Caribbean pushed against each over pushing one on top of the over causing the earthquake. Haiti sits on the point where the plate’s touch which made it affects it so badly.

I farted and caused an earthquake

Haiti is a hotspot for earthquakes but this earthquake has been the worst. Hundreds of thousands of people died but why ?
Because 2 tectonic plates (which make up the earth) collided and rubbed against each other while trying to get past each other which made the ground shake!

I believe it was conservative movement of the north american and caribbean plates.... But you'd need to double check.

The Haiti Earthquake occurred because of the strike- slip fault, where one side of a vertical fault slips horizontally past the other, scientists say. Hope it helps!!!

The two tectonic plates called the Caribbean plate and the Gonave plate rubbed together and tried to get passed one another and this caused the ground to shake which left Haiti in mountains of rubble  :(

This is not an answer. What sort of plate movement was it that made the haiti earthquake  happen, ie: Destructive plate and constructive plate, etc.
