Poeple cutting down to many trees and not planting new ones then the animals become endangered because they don't have a habitat to live in!!!!

The Amazon rainforest covers an area of about 5 million square miles – the whole of the Amazon river basin and the area beyond it. The warm climate and the water from the river enables a huge variety and diversity of plants and animals to grow there. About 30 per cent of all plant and animal species that we know about live in the Amazonian rainforest.

The opening of the Amazon river basin to settlers over the last two centuries has led to large areas of the forest being burned. Once the vegetation is no longer there, the rich habitat is destroyed and large areas can become waste, losing soil and losing the capacity to support life.

The loss of species diversity and the culture of indigenous peoples is a tragedy but the impact of destroying the rainforest goes beyond the local area. Destroying forest reduces the capacity of the planet Earth to combat the increase in carbon dioxide formed by human industrial activity, making global warming more likely.

Because people are slowly destroying it through foresting, mining, and oiling.
Leave us alone, keep off our land and we may not of had contact with the outside world but we would like to keep it that way.
