The discovery of buckminsterfullerene made technoligy much more improved as it was such a tiny molecule that it was responsible for smaller Tvs, ipods, phones and computers. It also improved Medicine as it allowed tablets to be small enough to be taken orally and also they could be stronger. Buckminsterfullerene molecules is also in mascara.
This is just a small reason of why science affects our day-to-day life :)
