There is a wide range of vegetation in Barbados.  Some of the most notable when you think of the island are sugar cane, palm trees and coconut trees.  However there is a large number of other trees that are unique to the island and the Caribbean.  For example you will find very large Mahogany and Poui trees which have been on the island for hundreds of years.  There are also a large number of fruit trees including the very popular Breadfruit tree, Bajan cherry tree and Guava tree to name a few.  If you are ever on the island you can pay a visit the the Barbados Horticultural Society in the southern parish of Christ Church where you will find tons of information on the island's vegetation.
