The capital of Barbados is the city of Bridgetown. It has a population of almost 100,000 people and is the largest city in Barbados. It is a port town located in the southwest part of the country. It was once visited by President George Washington. The climate in Bridgetown is ideal. It has a sub-tropical climate. In the ports of Barbados, one can see several cruise ships which dock because Bridgetown is a port of call for many of the cruise liners that pass through the Barbados ports.

When the British discovered Bridgeport there were a few indians living in the area. The city was named Bridgeport because the British discovered a bridge that was built over the river where the indians dwelled.

Bridgeport is a beautiful town that is rich in history, culture, and buildings. It is an ideal vacation spot.
