There are various links between modern and traditional ethics. Modern and traditional ethics need not be thought of as two contrasting values. Think of modern ethics rather as a logical progression, development of traditional ethics. As times change, so do our ideas and notions of right versus wrong. Many notions are the same or simply slightly modified keeping in mind changing times.

Ethics is well known as a chief branch of philosophy. It denotes the study of various values and customs of either a single person or group. It also covers the examination and utilisation of diverse concepts such as simply right and wrong or responsibility.

Christian theology has contributed and shaped much of the development of traditional ethics of responsibility. Modern ethics in contrast moves away from simply religious views.
