Mouth, esophagus, stomach (pancreas and liver produce juices for digestion) small intestine(duodenum, jejunum and ileum), large intestine(ascending, transverse and descending colon), rectum and anus make up the digestive system.
The easiest way to answer this question is to follow the path that a mouthful of food takes through the digestive system after someone puts it in their mouth.
The first stage of digestion takes place in the mouth, where chewing takes place and the enzymes in saliva get to work on the carbohydrates. After the food is mashed up and digested a little bit, it is swallowed and enters the first major organ of the digestive system – the stomach. The stomach is very acid to kill any bacteria in the food and it also produces pepsin, an enzyme that starts to digest proteins.
After a couple of hours, the food passes into the small intestine, made up of the duodenum, the jejunem and the ileum. Much of the absorption of food nutrients takes place here.
After that, the food passes to the large intestine. Here any excess water is absorbed for the body to use and the major function here is to process the waste before it leaves the body as faeces. The end of the large intestine in the rectum and anus – whose function is known to everyone!

Mouth, gullet, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, rectum and anus
The digestive system is made up of the digestive track. The basic course that the food follows from its intake to the time it is excreted is from the mouth to the esophagus(or simply known as guts). It then travels to the stomach, the small intestine, the large intestine, the rectum and is finally excreted out of the anus.
