Flintshire is an important area and a county that is located in north-east Wales. This area is under the governance of Flintshire County Council. In England it margins Merseyside (across the River Dee) and Cheshire, and in Wales Wrexham and Denbighshire.
The area was earlier formed by the amalgamation of the Alyn and Deeside and Delyn districts. The region comprises of the former borough of Flint, the urban Districts of Buckley, Connah's Quay, Holywell, Mold, the rural district of Holywell Rural District and the entire region of rural district of Holywell Rural District. However, the Maelor Rural District and the parish of Marford and Hoseley, in 1947 became a part of the Wrexham Maelor district, which is currently a part of the Wrexham county borough.
