Yes they do, they have setback, particularly technology, but they too have benefits. Science for instance. Without science we would not be able to predict things like earthquakes or volcanic eruptions, so in turn we would have even less time to try and get ourselves and others to safety, which creates a higher chance of death. Much higher. As for technology, though many downsides there are just as many good things. Take communication for example. You can contact or communicate with someone else virtually whenever and where ever you are. There are jobs that completely revolve around computers and technologies, if they were to be taken away many many people would be out of jobs, and I'm sure you know where that leads.
