Metal contains loose electrons which bound the positive charge or nucleus of the atoms. Mostly metals are solid at room temperature. They can conduct electricity and heat because of the free electrons. Metals have high luster and density. They form cations by losing electrons. Most of the elements of periodic table are metals.
