Chernobyl basically is a deserted city placed in northern Ukraine, in Kiev Oblast close to the border of Belarus. The city was abandoned in the year 1986 because of the Chernobyl disaster which took place at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.
The Nuclear power plant is positioned approximately 14.5 kilometres north -northwest and was named after the city which is situated in the Chernobyl Raion, thought the city and the plant were not openly linked. Although the city is mostly deserted, a few people still reside here.
There were approximately 14,000 people staying in this city before the accident took place. Chernobyl initially appeared as a charter in the year 1193 and was depicted as n hunting-lodge of Knyaz Rostislavich. Over the period of years in was inducted in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, where it went on to become a crown village.
