The balanced chemical equation is
HEPTANE +11 OXYGEN  --->7 CARBON DIOXIDE + 8 WATER
Mass of heptane=8.34g
Molecular mass of heptane=100g/mol
Number of moles=8.34/100=0.0834 moles
According to equation
1 mole of heptane give carbon dioxide=7 moles
0.0834 moles of heptane give carbon dioxide=7*0.0834/1   0.0834 moles of heptane give carbon dioxide=0.584 moles
