In the south of river Kabul spreads the Koh-e-Safed range with a height of 3050 meters. In the south of Koh-e-Safed are the Kohat and Waziristan hills which are traversed by the Kurram and Tochhi, and are bounded on the south by Gomal River. The Khyber Pass lies to the south of Kabul, it is 56 km long and connects Kabul in Afghanistan with the fertile land of peshawar in pakistan. In the south of the koh-e-safed there flows Kurram River which passes through the Kurram pass. The Kurram pass is one of the routes to Afghanistan. Through this pass trade is carried out with Afghanistan.

The Sulaiman range runs for a distance of about 500-kmin the north direction. Its highest peak is 3500 meters high. There are many passes in the valleys of small rivers crossing the Sulaiman Mountains connecting the Punjab with Balochistan.At the southern end of the Suliaman Mountain are the Marri and Bugti hills. The main river of this region is the Bolan River. The Quetta railway line goes through the famous Bolan Pass.
