It certainly bothers some people a lot, enough so that they have been known to go to a counselor over it. But I think people in general know that they're going to get old, and accept it as it comes.

After all, that is what living does, it ages you. Think about it, you have about 20 years getting to be an adult, you reach maturity about then, and the rest of your life, you are aging.

Time tends to wear on people differently, depending on the life that you lead. Some people live very athletic lives, and are vegetarian, some are slower and eat meats, some are fast living, and maybe some of them do drugs, others never even touch a cigarette or a drink.
Of course doing drugs, and alcohol ages you faster. But in the case of these people, most of them don't care how old they are looking.

So psychologically, they aren't concerned about that, they just want their fix. Stress is another factor that leads to aging, and if you listen to the doctors about de-stressing your life, it helps to keeping you younger looking.

I'm not terribly concerned about it, because my philosophy is that if someone can't like me for who I am, then I don't care to have that someone in my life. Hope this helps.

I see that ageing women are undervalued in many cultures. It is O.K. to make offensive jokes about 'old women' as if we were some kind of disease. The only alternative I know is to die young. it is hard to think of oneself as a useless 'unattractive' parasite.
