"A renewable resource is always there and will never run out. It keeps renewing itself.
A non-renewable resource is something that we are using up, and at some time there will be none left worth harvesting."

A non-renewable energy source is one which, once it is used, cannot be replaced. It is gone forever. Many of the fuels we use today fall into this category – oil, gas, petrol and coal. Once these are burned to heat homes or power cars, their energy is lost forever.

A renewable energy source is one that can be replaced and so is less bad for the environment. Whereas coal is non-renewable – it consists of the compressed wood deposits of millions of years ago – wood grown in fast growing forests for the purpose of fuel is renewable. The land can be replanted with new trees and the 'wood' crop can be reproduced. Of course, it takes quite a long time.

Other forms of renewable energy are even better from an environmental point of view. Energy generated by wind turbines or hydroelectric power are renewable – and they can be constantly and instantly replenished. Solar energy is another good renewable energy source.

The difference between them is the Non-renewable energy source can be only used once such as Coal, Oil, Natural gas, Uranium, Petrol are all a Non-renewable thing. And a renewable energy source you can use over and over again such as wind, water, solar, biomass, geothermal are all a renewable energy source.

With more use of renewable resource it has no bad effect on environmet but the more use of non renewable resource affects environment badly because if we use petrol in car it emits smoke which leads to air pollution and it affects the climate

They're called non renewable because once you burn them you can't use them again.
Formed - fossils are pressed and heated

Renewable:  Resources from the earth that can be restored or replaced with new ones.  For example, trees, animals, flowers, oxygen
Non-renewable-Resources that cannot be replaced with the same resource.  Once they are used they are gone.  For example:  Coal, minerals, fossil fuels.
Inexhaustible resources.  Resources that are continuous.  For example sunlight, wind, water

A non renewable energy source is something that can not be renewed in a short period of time like corn, whereas oil takes a lot longer.

Hope this helps!

I have to do a speech about renewable energy and non-renewable =(
let me give you some information : 5% of the worlds energy is renewable (most natural)
90% of the worlds energy is non-renewable
The rest is natural (5%)-some are also non-renewable
renewable/natural energy would be solar, hydro and wind.
Non-renewable- oil,coal,fossil and natural

It means, one cannot make new ones from other. For instance, a diamond cannot be 'doubled', so if it disappeared, there would be no other in its place (that is why it is called " 'non're'new'able' "); whereas a tree can be renewable, for you can plant its seeds and then a new tree may be born, may raise (thus, it is a " 're'new'able' resource ").

Suppose we take the power supply .. The non renewable resources such as coal is used in supplying electricity in the form thermal but this resource is not permanent in nature.. Whereas non renewable resources such as air ,water  can be used in generating electricity and is permanent like electricity produced through wind mill ,and hydel(hydro electricity).....this one is preferred so has to conserve the resources
