Plants produce seeds to grow more plants, It's like people having children they have children so that the world's population will be larger. Although some plants don't produce seeds. The seeds are carried by wind and where they land is where the plant will grow.

Believe it or not, there are some plants that don't produce seeds. You will find this in trees there are males and females.  Yup.  If a plant produces a lot of seeds it is because the likelyhood of survival of said seeds is reduced. Of course there are the execptions such as weeds. They seem to be the toughest of them all and can survive most anything and reproduce at an incredible rate.  Did you know that  dandilions are one of the few plants that does not need to be pollinated in order to reproduce at it is self pollinating.  Check out plants, some only produce a few seeds and if plants are not properly pollinated, will produce no seeds at all

I think they want more plants like them so they don't get extinct.
