The greenhouse gasses are those gases in the earth’s atmosphere and that are capable of absorbing and also emitting the radiation that falls in the thermal infrared range. The green house gasses that are present in the earth’s atmosphere are water vapor, methane, carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, ozone and chlorofluorocarbons. The most abundant of these are the water vapors that can make up to 35% - 70% of green house gasses. Second most abundant is carbon dioxide, followed by methane and ozone.
