Plastic is made of a binder, plasticizers, fillers and pigments. The chemical name of plastic is polyvinyl chloride. Binders may be derivates of cellulose, casein, milk protein and synthetic resins. Whatever the binder is made up of, it is a long chain of molecules called polymers. Other substances used in the plastics are hydrocarbons and chlorine. It is made through a polymerization process in which the small molecules are combined together to form long ones.
